Seminar: Smart Strategies for Healthy and Stress-Free Holidays

America/New York

The “Taking Care of Your Family Health” Seminar was a collaborative outreach effort between AADI and East West Bank in Boston’s Chinatown. Attendees gained financial advice from East West Bank, and also enjoyed learning strategies to manage stress, engage in mindful holiday eating, and practice diabetes prevention and management from AADI’s team of health experts. Essential strategies for daily stress management were provided. Attendees also reviewed tips on preparing food, types of food to fill one’s plate, and proper disposal of food after the holiday season. Attendees were given an overview about the nature of diabetes disease, including symptoms and the proper way to diagnose glucose levels. Exercise physiologist Jackie Shahar taught attendees to put their health knowledge to use by practicing stretching exercises with the use of a stretching band. Everyone had fun and looked forward to practicing the stretching exercises at home. Special thanks to Johnny Ip and Betty Wong of East West Bank for their partnership and continued support of our cause. We look forward to our upcoming healthy education and outreach events!
