I do not want to start insulin. My friend who started insulin now has to stay on it forever.

Does eating brown rice cause my blood sugar to go up faster or slower than white rice?
Answer: 

Our study among several others have shown that consuming brown rice actually slows down the glucose rise in the body compared to white rice. The fiber in brown rice also provides a sense of fullness.
