In general, however, any diet that includes common sense portions and well-accepted nutritional recommendations along with exercise and other wholesome lifestyle changes is effective. It's almost always better than doing nothing. While incorporating enough protein in the diet is important for maintaining muscle mass and other vital functions, we often consume too much protein in our American diet. I would suggest that you work with a registered dietitian (RD) to assess your individual nutritional needs before you incorporate the Rice Diet into your lifestyle.
